Pinterest is the latest booming social media startup for 2012. Essentially, Pinterest is a ‘digital scrapbook’ where users can present and organise all of their interests and present them to the world. In terms of events (and business in general) it is only in such early stages that many haven’t yet worked out how to utilise it in their own business or for marketing purposes. Pinterest can be a great tool for creating mood boards for clients based on creative concepts, or be used as inspiration to collect imagery around a certain topic.
Additionally Pinterest can be used as a central image bank for an event where guests post their individual photos, collating them all into the one location. Uniquely, Pinterest maintains the source links to the images so guests posting photos can be contacted and tracked. A great way to engage and build communities around your brand and extend the legacy of the event.
