Milan Design WeekHere’s a bold design display from Trienalle di Milano held in April, 2011. The work is by graphic designer Anthony Burril in conjunction with Michael Marriott. We like the incorporation of thought provoking statements used in the work encouraging the viewer to think beyond just colour, shape and form. It’s a literal imposition but one that works well in keeping with the design style and approach.
Looks almost like a tradeshow stand wouldn’t you say? Ask us how to make your next tradeshow stand ‘standout’! It doesn’t need to break the budget.

Here is a beautiful use of a groundbreaking technology by Nike Air Jordan which perfectly reinforces the key product feature - the lightest Nike shoes ever made!

The technology uses magnetic fields to create a controlled repulsion force thereby ‘levitating’ the shoe. Check out the video to see the behind the scenes video on how it works!

2D/3D Chairs for Issey Miyake

This is a great illusion created by Yoichi Tamamoto for Issey Miyake. When viewed from outside the Tokyo store each chair appears to have legs and seats. With the wooden backs attached to the floor the legs are then painted on the groud at an angle to appear in the correct perspective.

An interesting idea which could be adapted easily in the context of event environments such as pop-up stores, stageset design, product launches etc. For those interested in the technical detail we’ve included a measurement diagram at the bottom as a starting reference point.
